About

A store, not a catalogue

TAS — Top Ammo Supply — sells ammunition and the equipment that goes with it. What is unusual about it is underneath: the stock sits in 6 warehouses run by independent suppliers, and TAS puts all of it behind one catalogue, one cart, one shipping quote and one company that answers for the order.

The model

How the marketplace actually works

A product on TAS is not one row in one database. It is a parent product — say, Federal American Eagle 9mm — sitting above the distinct SKUs it actually sells in: 115 grain in a fifty-round box, 124 grain, a thousand-round case. There are 112 of those SKUs in this catalogue, and each one carries its own offers from the suppliers who stock it. A single box of 9mm might be listed by three warehouses at three prices with three different quantities on hand.

The buy box shows the cheapest offer that is genuinely in stock. The others are not hidden: every product page lists the rest under other sellers, with each supplier’s price, warehouse, stock and arrival date, and you can pick a different one. If the alternative ships from a warehouse already in your cart, we say so — consolidating is usually worth more to you than a few cents of unit price.

Because stock lives in different buildings, an order can leave more than one of them. We treat that as ordinary logistics rather than an apology. The cart names each shipment, its warehouse and its arrival date before you pay; the confirmation repeats them; the tracking page gives each shipment its own carrier, number and timeline. An order is never described as “shipped” when two of its three boxes are still sitting in Ohio.

You are quoted one shipping number regardless. Each additional warehouse costs TAS $10.99 to bring into an order, and we would rather absorb that than quote a four-warehouse split at cost and watch a reasonable order die at the checkout. Over $600 shipping is free for everyone, and TAS+ members pay nothing at any subtotal.

The tagline

Why “Precision, Supply”

Two words because there are two halves to the job, and most of this category only does one of them.

Precision is who we are built for. Nearly everyone here sells with the same vocabulary: red, black, tactical, urgent, a wall of undifferentiated grid. It works, and it leaves an obvious gap — because the people buying most of this ammunition are shooting matches, training, teaching a nephew to hit a soda can, or filling a freezer in November. That commitment sets the type, the white space and the one warm metal accent. It is why the site leads with caliber rather than a category tree, and why price-per-round is printed at the same weight as the price. Those are the habits of someone comparing numbers, not someone being rushed.

Supply is what we actually do. TAS is a marketplace, not a warehouse — six suppliers behind one cart, one checkout and one shipping charge, however many boxes it takes. The hard part of this business is not listing ammunition. It is making an order that leaves three buildings on three different days feel like it came from one store.

It is a positioning statement with consequences. Precision, not urgency — if a design decision on this site can only be justified by making someone anxious, it does not ship.

Standards

How we pick suppliers

A marketplace is only ever as good as its worst listing. Five things are non-negotiable before a warehouse appears on a product page.

  1. 01

    Licensed, and demonstrably so

Every supplier holds current federal and state credentials for the ammunition they list, and we re-verify rather than take the paperwork on file as permanent.

  2. 02

Stock that is actually on a shelf

Quantities come from the supplier's own system, not a nightly spreadsheet. A supplier who lists what they can order rather than what they hold does not stay listed.

  3. 03

    A published cutoff they keep

Each warehouse commits to a daily cutoff time. That commitment is what lets a product page say 'order in 2h 14m and it ships today' and mean it.

  4. 04

    Original packaging, intact lot codes

Manufacturer boxes, unopened, with the lot marking readable. Repackaged ammunition of unclear provenance is not something we will sell you.

  5. 05

    Our returns policy, not theirs

A shopper deals with TAS. Suppliers accept our returns terms as a condition of listing, so nobody is ever handed a different company's phone number.

The current list, with cutoff times and specialities, is public: see who ships your order.

The other half of a promise

What TAS will not do

  • Countdown timers that reset when you reload the page.
  • “Only 3 left” when there are four hundred.
  • Shipping revealed at step four of checkout.
  • An account wall in front of a cart, a quote, or order tracking.
  • Price-per-round in grey 12px where it is hard to compare.

None of that is moral posturing. Every one of those patterns buys a conversion today and costs a customer who feels handled, and in a category where people buy the same thing four times a year that is a bad trade.
